As an action, you can embed this item into any ranged weapon without the Thrown property that you are holding. The weapon becomes infused with the Tempest Core’s power, giving it additional abilities. Removing the Tempest Core from an item you are holding requires an action. 

A weapon enhanced by the Tempest Core can create its own ammunition, in the form of concentrated gusts of wind, as part of a ranged weapon attack. When using this wind ammunition, the weapon is changed in the following ways:

• It loses the Loading property.
• Its damage is halved and changed to magical piercing damage. 
• Creatures of size large or smaller hit by this weapon are pushed 10 feet away from you, taking 1d6 bludgeoning damage if they impact into a solid surface.
