Cloak of the Fair Folk

Rare Adventuring Gear (Cloak), Requires Attunement

  • While attuned to this cloak, you can create small physical changes to your body, such as changing the colour of your eyes, making your teeth sharper and needle-like, making your facial features more smooth or your ears elf-like. These changes only last for a brief moment, and those who notice them might think them to be tricks of the light, hallucinations or glimpses of your true form.
    •   This feature can be used as a reaction to gain a +2 bonus to your Persuasion, Deception or Intimidation check, if the target were to be somewhat influenced by the change

Mischievous Illusion. Any creature that tries to investigate or inspect you and roll 12 or more on their Investigation check or tries to detect magic on you, will think that you are under some powerful illusion spell or are shapeshifted in one way or another, even if that is not the case.

Frivolous Sadism. Once per short rest when you bring a creature to 0 HP, or each time you score a critical hit, you can use your reaction to start joyfully cackling and frolicking. When you do so, your form changes, your eyes turn black, your teeth become needle-like, and your nails become long and sharp.
Each hostile creature within 15 feet of you must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw, taking 2d10 psychic damage and becoming frightened of you until the end of their turn on a failure, or half as much damage without becoming frightened on a success.
