Dream Needle

Rare Adventuring Gear (Weaver’s Tools), Requires Proficiency with Weaver’s Tools, Requires Attunement

  • When used as part of Weaver’s Tools, it gives a +2 bonus on ability checks made with them.
  • Being attuned to this item makes your dreaming consciousness and your body to gain a magical connection, allowing you to weave and craft using Weaver’s Tools even while you are sleeping or taking a Long  Rest.
  • Once per day, you can spend one uninterrupted hour to produce black, white violet, crimson or teal soft silken threads. These threads are taken from the Dreamscape and are enough to create a set of clothes.
    • Clothing created from these threads gives the wearer 10 additional Hit Points against effects that would make them fall asleep.
  • If you go to sleep or meditate with the needle in your hand, your body will begin to weave on its own with the needle during your dreams. When you finish a long rest you can make a DC 13 Dexterity or Intelligence (Weaver’s Tools) check. On a success, you create a special trinket or article of clothing infused with your dream energy and made from threads of the Dreamscape.
    • Any creature holding the item can use their action to go under the effects of the Catnap spell, but they have to be the only creature holding the item for the effects of the spell to affect them.
      • A creature can benefit from this effect only once from a single trinket
    • If a single creature is holding this item during a long rest, the time required to finish it is halved (to a minimum of 1 hour).
    • This item loses its magical abilities and vanishes when you finish a long rest or if you stop being attuned to Dream Needle.

Thread of Sleep. Twice per long rest as an action, you can create a dream thread in a 15-foot long and 1 inch wide line with all of its parts within 30 feet of you.

If a creature touches the thread for the first time during a turn, they become affected by the effects of a 3rd level Sleep spell.
The thread lasts for 8 hours or until you use your bonus action to end the effect.

The thread is very hard to see and a creature needs to succeed on a DC 15 Perception check to notice it.
