Very Rare Adventuring Gear (Weaver’s Tools), Requires Proficiency with Weaver’s Tools, Requires Attunement
Needle of Phantasia is the upgraded version of the Dream Needle. Aside from some of its basic features being enhanced, it also gains the Tapestry of Fantasy feature.
- When used as part of Weaver’s Tools, it gives a +4 bonus on ability checks made with them.
- Being attuned to this item makes your dreaming consciousness and your body to gain a magical connection, allowing you to weave and craft using Weaver’s Tools even while you are sleeping or taking a Long Rest.
- Once per day, you can spend one uninterrupted hour to produce black, white, violet, crimson or teal soft silken threads. These threads are taken from the Dreamscape and are enough to create a set of clothes.
- Clothing created from these threads gives the wearer 25 additional Hit Points against effects that would make them fall asleep.
- If you go to sleep or meditate with the needle in your hand, your body will begin to weave on its own with the needle during your dreams. When you finish a long rest you can make a DC 13 Dexterity or Intelligence (Weaver’s Tools) check. On a success, you create a special trinket or article of clothing infused with your dream energy and made from threads of the Dreamscape.
- Any creature holding the item can use their action to go under the effects of the Catnap spell, but they have to be the only creature holding the item for the effects of the spell to affect them.
- A creature can benefit from this effect only once from a single trinket
- If a single creature is holding this item during a long rest, the time required to finish it is halved (to a minimum of 1 hour).
- This item loses its magical abilities and vanishes when you finish a long rest or if you stop being attuned to The Needle of Phantasia.
Thread of Sleep. Twice per long rest as an action, you can create a dream thread in a 15-foot long and 1 inch wide line with all of its parts within 30 feet of you.
If a creature touches the thread for the first time during a turn, they become affected by the effects of a 5th level Sleep spell.
The thread lasts for 8 hours or until you use your bonus action to end the effect.
The thread is very hard to see and a creature needs to succeed on a DC 15 Perception check to notice it.
Tapestry of Fantasy. You can spend 1 hour using the Needle of Phantasia to create an illusory tapestry that covers reality, creating the effects of the Mirage Arcane spell in a 100-foot cube area around you. When you do so, you must make a Dexterity (Weaver’s Tools) or Intelligence (Weaver’s Tools) check – If a creature attempts to investigate the area, they make an Intelligence (Investigation) check with DC equal to this Weaver’s Tool check, recognizing it as an illusion on a success.
While in the area, you can spend 1 minute to use the Needle to change a single aspect of the illusion.
You can destroy your Web of Fantasy as a bonus action and can’t create a new one, until the previous one is destroyed.
- While inside the Tapestry of Fantasy, you gain partial control over its workings in the following ways:
- Tearing the Tapestry. As an action, you can cause a tear in the tapestry, creating a small circular reality rift with a radius of 5 feet and thickness of 1 inch that appears within 5 feet of you. An identical rift also appears in the Tapestry of Fantasy within 60 ft. of you. If you move into one of the portals, you can teleport to the other without spending any additional movement.
If you are within 5 feet of a portal, you can attack any creature within 5 feet of the other portal as if they were within 5 feet of her, this also applies for attacks of opportunity.
Only you can use the rift to teleport and utilize its effects. This portal lasts until you destroy the Tapestry of Fantasy or until you create a new rift through this feature.
- Stitching the Tapestry. You can use your bonus action to choose two Creatures inside the area and they both must make a DC 16 Strength saving throw, each being pushed 20 feet towards the other on a failure.
- Blending into the Tapestry. You can use your action to become invisible and gain a +10 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks while inside the Tapestry of Fantasy until you attack or cast a spell.
