Battlement Pavise

Rare Armor (Shield), Requires Attunement.

  • While holding this shield, you gain an extra +1 bonus to AC in addition to the usual shield bonus.

This large unwieldy bulky stone shield resembling the battlements of a castle is not designed to be carried in one arm. If your Strength score is 17 or lower and you are wielding the Battlement Pavise in only one hand, your movement speed is reduced by 10 ft. and you gain a -2 penalty to Attack Rolls and Dexterity Saving Throws and Ability Checks.

You can use your action to deploy the pavise on an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. The Pavise then doesn’t function as a shield, but it becomes a stationary object that provides ¾ cover to any creature directly behind it. Creatures don’t benefit from the ¾ cover of the Pavise against your attacks and spells.
Picking up the deployed Battlement Pavise requires an action.

Watchtower (Recharge 5-6). While the pavise is deployed and within 5 feet of you, you can use your bonus action to make it construct a stone wall encircling you, functioning as if the pavise was deployed on all unoccupied spaces within 5 feet of you. This wall lasts until the start of your next turn or until the Battlement Pavise is no longer deployed.

Scorpion Turret. Once per long rest when you deploy the Battlement Pavise, you can also summon a stationary self-loading scorpion siege weapon on top of it. For the purposes of proficiencies and masteries, the scorpion is considered a Heavy Crossbow, but it only has the Two-Handed property, its range is tripled, and it deals 2d12 piercing damage, but you don’t add your Dexterity modifier to the damage roll.

The Scorpion Turret can be rotated, but cannot be moved to a different space, and you have to be within 5 feet of it to use it. The Scorpion Turret lasts as long as the Battlement Pavise is deployed.
